Nahrun Kabirun is run by volunteers serving in officer roles. Each role has defined responsibilities within the SCA structure.
Current officers
Seneschal — The Seneschal is the chief administrative officer, responsible for legal compliance, coordination, and the welfare of the branch. More
Historically, a seneschal was the senior steward of a medieval estate, responsible for overseeing domestic affairs, managing formal ceremonies, and administering justice.
Reflecting this historic trust, the Seneschal’s official heraldic badge is a gold key lying flat across a red field (Gules, a key fesswise Or). This imagery highlights the traditional role of the seneschal as the official keeper of “the keys to the castle.”
In the modern context of the Society for Creative Anachronism, the Seneschal acts as the chief executive and legal representative for the local chapter. In this corporate capacity, the Seneschal signs legal contracts and ensures branch operations comply with local municipal laws, SCA Corpora, and Kingdom regulations. Additionally, they run the monthly business meetings and collaborate closely with the Chatelaine to manage public relations and welcome newcomers.

Herald — The Herald manages name and device submissions. More
The Herald also manages announcements at events and the shire’s armorial records.
The Marshalate — The Marshalate oversees the safety and conduct of all martial activities. More
The Marshalate consists of:
- Archery — Captain of Archers (CoA)
- Thrown Weapons
- Light Armored Fighters — Light Armored Fighter Marshal
- Heavy Fighters — Knight Marshal
Exchequer — The Exchequer manages the shire’s finances. More
The Exchequer also submits required reports to the Kingdom.
Minister of Arts & Sciences — The Minister of Arts and Sciences works with newcomers and members to accurately reproduce historical clothing, artifacts, and performances. More
This includes demonstrations, exhibitions, displays, and teaching classes or workshops; helping artisans get the support and recognition they need; supporting Arts and Sciences competitions; and supporting the study of historical combat.
Chronicler — The Chronicler produces the shire newsletter. More
The Chronicler also maintains historical records.
Webminister — The Webminister maintains the shire website. More
